Note: this is a seven day a week operation and will require some weekend work. Access to a reliable car and a current driver's licence is also essential for this role.

The resort is currently undergoing re-opening operations and this is a fantastic opportunity to join the Front Office Team. You’ll be joining a progressive company with the refurbished resort to open mid April 2019 with 277 contemporary rooms and suites, 3 new restaurants and 3 bars plus Daydream Island’s iconic Living Reef returns to the island in an even bigger and better way, further cementing its eco-friendly and educational focus.
The island is one of the closest Whitsunday islands to the mainland (Airlie Beach) with a short ferry commute taking in the sea views.
About the role
Operate the reception desk during the night shift. Cross checking and balancing financial transactions completed during the day for all outlets on a shift basis. Ensure accurate charges for room revenues on a daily basis. Preparation of reports to reflect the trading result of the property on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ensure the arrival and departure of all guests, to and from the hotel is dealt with in a friendly and professional manner.
Deal with all cheques, cash and credit transactions in accordance with finance policy and procedures.
Answer switchboard in a courteous manner ensuring accurate recording and prompt delivery of all messages.
Ensure the security of hotel “keys” and be responsible for the safety and security of the building
Have a thorough understanding of the procedures to follow in the event of an emergency.
Be totally conversant with PMS, daily balance process, running reports and compilation of daily statistical information as required by finance policy and procedures.
Audit room rates, charges, reconcile and balance revenues generated as per night audit check list.
Prepare billing’s for Account Receivable in line with finance policy and procedures.
Complete computer systems back-ups and save in accordance with finance policy and procedures.
Be competent in the taking of reservations, up-selling where possible to maximise on average room rate.
The Ideal candidates will have:

Self motivated with a positive attitude.
A 'quick thinker' with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
